i was with my dad and my sister at my local mall. the mall was having some type of halloween event and they had a mini rollar coaster ride that we went on. when we got off, i think it broke. after we left the rollar coaster, a few ladys came up to us to search our bag. i knew one of the ladies. the lady i knew searched my dad's bag and then told us we had to leave. at first, me and my sister didn't realize my dad was walking away, but once we seen him up ahead in a hallway, we followed him, not knowing where he was going. the hallway got darker until we got to the end, which had an elevator on the left side and a door that looked like a bank vault door on the right side. my dad went in the right door and once me and my sister got there, two ladies and someone in a hospital bed came out of the elevator. i held the door open for one of the women and she walked in the vault. the other woman and the person in the hospital bed disappeared. me and my sister walked in the vault door. there were hundreds of steps to get down to the bottom. once we got to the bottom, i felt like it was a room that i had been in before. it was like a courtroom mixed with a bank, but on the right side of the room it led off into woods. in front of me, there were 5 doors that led into hallways of more doors. then, one of my 6th grade teachers came up to me, Mrs. Ackley, and i asked her where my dad went. she said if i went in the door farthest to the right, went down that hallway and counted 5 doors down, i would find my dad in there. she said there were only 6 doors, but that i had to count carefully. however, i didnt go in that door right away. i went over to the woods and saw a group of people huddled up together in a blanket. they were hiding behind a tree, and then i looked up and saw what they were hiding from. on a hill far away, there were 4 men with guns, pointing them at us. my sister and i hid with the people, and for a while we just stood there. after a while, i knew i still had to find my dad, so i told everyone to make a run for it on the count of 3. my sister and i ran to the door we were told to go in, and i did not see where the others went. when we went through the door, my sister was gone, but i did not think anything of it at the time. the doors looked as if they were made of flesh. they were different skin colors and hairy. i tried to count the doors, but everytime i counted them they changed shape. so once i counted and knew i was at the 5th door, i went in. when i got in, i turned into a stick figure made of string. it was sort of like a video game, there were characters that were helpful and characters that were hurtful. the helpful characters were white stick figures with string in their hands. the hurtful characters were stick figures made of led pencil tips. if you ran into a hurtful character, they would tear some of your string off. if you ran into a helpful character, they would give you string back. there was one other person in the game, but she did not take notice to me. she was also trying to find her dad, i knew this because she was screaming, "daddy where are you?" the dream ended. i never found my dad.
Dreams can often be subjective and personal, but certain themes and symbols may hold significance. Here’s an interpretation of the key elements of your dream:
Family and Safety: The presence of your dad and sister indicates a desire for connection and support. Family often represents safety, guidance, and familiarity. The fact that you lose sight of your dad could symbolize feelings of uncertainty or anxiety about your own life situation or direction.
The Mall and Halloween Event: Malls are often places of exploration and consumerism, representing choices and social interactions. The Halloween event may suggest that you’re dealing with fears or uncertainties—something that feels “scary” or “unsettling” to you in your waking life. Halloween could also signify a need to confront certain aspects of yourself or your environment that you normally keep hidden.
The Roller Coaster: This ride could symbolize emotions or experiences that are fluctuating or unpredictable. Since it broke after you got off, this may suggest a feeling that something you’ve enjoyed or found thrilling in your life is now unstable or has come to an abrupt end.
Search and Authority: The women searching your bag could represent authority figures or societal expectations probing into your personal life or decisions. This could indicate feelings of being judged or questioned about your choices or safety.
The Dark Hallway and Vault Door: Dark places in dreams often represent the unknown or parts of yourself that you find difficult to confront. The vault door symbolizes something hidden or secure, perhaps a part of you that you need to explore further.
Disappearance of Characters: Your sister and the individuals in the woods disappearing speaks to themes of isolation or abandonment. You may have fears about being left behind or not finding support in critical situations.
The Woods and the Men with Guns: This could symbolize external dangers or fears that loom over you. The fact that you all hid indicates a natural response to seek safety when faced with threats.
Counting Doors and Transformation: The difficulty in counting the doors and your transformation into a stick figure made of string could signify feelings of confusion and fragility in your identity or sense of self. The stick figure suggests a basic, stripped-down version of yourself, perhaps representing vulnerability or an element of playfulness in your journey.
Helpful vs. Hurtful Characters: The contrast between helpful and hurtful characters may reflect your relationships and experiences—where you are feeling supported or, conversely, torn down by others in your life.
Overall, this dream seems to convey feelings of uncertainty, the search for guidance or support, and the struggle with external pressures or fears. It might be beneficial to reflect on these elements and how they map onto your current life situations or emotions you may be experiencing.
